A partnership between RICARICA and CAO Cheese for the installation of an electric vehicle charging system.
17th December 2018 – Inaugurated in the presence of the local authority, a new system for charging electric vehicles, powered by solar panels, at the CAO cheese plant near Oristano airport, a charging station born from a collaboration between the Cooperativa Allevatori Ovini, CAO Cheese and RICARICA SRL.
“The consequences of global warming are now undeniable: reports of extreme climatic events follow one after another, more often than not the damage is increasing considerably. We can’t wait any longer – urges Cesare Fera, president of the FERA Group – we need to switch to clean mobility and this solar powered charging station allows tourists and Sardinians to move around without polluting. “
“The Region of Sardinia is currently engaged in the construction of a public recharging infrastructure, and will further engage with subsidies and tenders to facilitate the transition to what will be the mobility of the future, but the commitment of private individuals is essential to achieve this goal . Today’s inauguration- says Mario Porru of the University of Cagliari – represents an important element the regional charging network “.
A free test drive of electric cars was available (Tesla, Zoe, Kangoo, Leaf …) and very much appreciated by those present, thanks to the collaboration of the Mereu car dealership in Nuoro and the De ‘Carroz dealership in Cagliari.
Since its inception, CAO Cheese has integrated social and ecological concerns into corporate operations and pays particular attention to the environment: the public charging facility for electric vehicles underlines CAO’s active participation in the implementation of sustainable mobility through the use of 100% green energy.
RICARICA SRL is a start-up of the FERA group founded in 2014 with the aim of providing a charging service for electric cars by supplying energy obtained exclusively from renewable sources; it has installed and manages plants throughout Italy. Furthermore, a large company electric fleet, the second in number after the regional one, has been crossing Sardinia for years to service the Group’s renewable source plants in the area.
The charging station, located in a strategic road junction for the island, is configured to charge cars in alternating currents, with 2 Type II 22 kW sockets, 24 hours a day and 7/7; the charging column is powered with clean energy from the solar panel system of the dairy. It can be activated by mobile phone via the NEXTCHARGE APP or via RFID access. The application is the most downloaded in Italy, for this service and is one that provides the largest national recharge network, thanks to roaming.
FERA SRL (Alternative Renewable Energy Factory SRL) has been operating since 2001 in the renewable energy sector, selling electricity that it produces exclusively from renewable sources (wind and biogas).
The activity of the FERA Group is constantly aligned with best practice criteria recognized at national and international level.
